Verification & Vetting Policy
Last Updated: 14/03/2025

Trusted-People.com (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to ensuring a secure and trustworthy platform by implementing a robust worker verification process. This policy outlines the verification steps we conduct for Workers and clarifies the responsibilities of Clients (Employers) for on-site checks.

1. Overview of Worker Verification

Workers using Trusted-People.com are self-employed professionals. While we facilitate an initial verification process, it remains the Client’s responsibility to conduct any necessary on-site checks before an Assignment begins.

We conduct the following checks during the worker verification process:

  • Identity Verification – Ensuring the Worker’s identity is valid.
  • Right-to-Work Checks – Confirming legal work eligibility in the UK.
  • Optional Qualifications Verification – Allowing Workers to provide additional certifications (e.g., DBS, SIA, CSCS) to enhance credibility.

2. Worker Verification Process

Step 1: Identity Verification

All Workers must provide:

  • A valid government-issued photo ID (passport or driving license).
  • Proof of address (e.g., utility bill or bank statement from the last 3 months).

Workers who successfully complete this step will have a “Verified Identity” badge on their profile.

Step 2: Right-to-Work Verification

To comply with UK employment laws, Workers must provide proof of their right to work in the UK. This may include:

  • A UK passport or residence permit.
  • A UK visa that permits work.
  • EU Settlement Scheme documentation (if applicable).

Workers who pass this check will have a “Right to Work Verified” badge displayed on their profile.

Step 3: Optional Certifications & Qualifications

Workers may upload additional documents to enhance their profile credibility, such as:

  • Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check – Required for roles involving vulnerable people.
  • Security Industry Authority (SIA) Licence – Required for security-related roles.
  • Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Card – Required for construction-related roles.
  • Other relevant industry-specific certifications.

Workers with verified qualifications will have respective badges displayed on their profiles, but Clients must verify these credentials before an Assignment begins.

3. Employer Responsibilities for On-Site Checks

While Trusted-People.com facilitates worker verification, Clients remain responsible for verifying credentials and ensuring compliance on-site. Employers should:

  • Check original documents (e.g., DBS, SIA, CSCS) upon the Worker’s arrival.
  • Confirm right-to-work status using government guidelines.
  • Verify identity in person to prevent impersonation.
  • Ensure workers meet any legal or regulatory requirements before allowing them to begin work.

Trusted-People.com is not liable for any failure by the Client to conduct on-site verification.

4. Misrepresentation & False Information

Workers found to have uploaded false or misleading documents may face:

  • Immediate removal from Trusted-People.com.
  • Reporting to relevant authorities if fraudulent activity is suspected.
  • Legal action where applicable.

Clients must report any suspected fraudulent activity immediately via [support contact].
